ABOUT ANGELA
The problem with most advice attorneys and HR advisors is that they give guidance in a vacuum—focused only on what the law says or does not say—without considering how that advice actually plays out in the real world, or how it might be scrutinized later in litigation. Angela Rho is not that kind of advice lawyer.
Angela partners with California employers to deliver practical, business-minded counsel grounded in both legal risk and operational reality. Her practice focuses on preventive advice and counseling, helping organizations make clear, defensible decisions that reduce exposure while supporting healthy, functional workplace cultures.
Clients rely on Angela for guidance across the full spectrum of employment issues, including personnel decisions, wage and hour compliance, policy development, and day-to-day employee relations challenges. She is known for cutting through complexity and offering clear, actionable advice that leaders can actually use—advice that considers not just compliance, but timing, optics, and downstream litigation risk.
Angela’s perspective is shaped by her experience on both sides of the table. Before joining Medina McKelvey, she served as General Counsel and Director of Human Resources for a large, privately held automotive group, where she advised leadership on California labor and employment law, dealership operations, internal policies and procedures, and enterprise-wide risk mitigation. Having lived with the consequences of legal advice inside a business, Angela brings a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach that resonates with executives and HR teams alike.
As the daughter of immigrant business owners, Angela has a deep appreciation for the pressures employers face and the importance of getting it right—not just legally, but practically. Clients value her steady judgment, her ability to anticipate issues before they escalate, and her focus on helping organizations operate with confidence in California’s demanding employment law landscape.
COMMITTED TO COMMUNITY
Angela is deeply committed to service and community leadership. She serves on several nonprofit boards, including the American Junior Golf Association, where she currently serves as President of the Board of Directors. She is also a board member of the South Palo Alto Food Closet, supporting access to food and resources for individuals and families in need.
A former elite amateur golfer, Angela competed on a full athletic scholarship at Stanford University, where she served as team captain of the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Team and was recognized as both a scholar-athlete and All-American.
