ABOUT EMILY

Emily partners with California employers to deliver strategic, forward-looking defense in wage and hour (class and PAGA) and other employment matters. Her approach combines litigation strength, proactive compliance, and practical business judgment, helping organizations navigate high-stakes disputes while positioning them for greater long-term stability.

Emily has over 15 years of wage and hour and employment law experience, including through trial and arbitration. She is one of small number of defense attorneys who can say that she first-chaired a PAGA action trial to defense victory. Her list of litigation accomplishments also includes numerous class certification denials, summary judgments/summary adjudications granted, and other trial victories, along with a winning Ninth Circuit brief related to one of her successful trial verdicts. She also has too many favorable wage and hour settlements to count.

Clients value Emily for her ability to simplify complex legal issues and translate them into clear, decisive strategy. She understands that litigation is disruptive—not just legally, but operationally—and works to contain risk, control cost, and protect the broader business. Her strong litigation background adds incredible depth to our compliance-first approach.

COMMITTED TO COMMUNITY

Since the beginning of her legal career nearly 20 years ago, Emily has used her legal skills to support children in need. This has included pro bono representation of children with special needs during Individualized Education Program mediations; youth with disabilities at administrative appeals when denied SSI; and during adoption proceedings. Emily also prepared an amicus brief for a Ninth Circuit appeal regarding the importance of adhering to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. She has developed training materials and completed community outreach related to special education services and the foster-care system. She currently supports local early education providers by providing pro bono legal services and volunteering her time supporting enrichment activities. At her prior, large, international law firm, Emily was twice awarded the nationwide pro bono service award.

“Emily is amazing. She is great at case management and well organized. She has great diplomacy skills. I won the lotto with … Emily.”
